Commissions are open!

Bring your walls to life with art inspired by your story, your memories, your places.

There are certain places in this world that we hold close. Places that instantly remind us of special times or special people. I help clients commemorate these memories by using their photos to create unique landscape paintings.

It could be a quick snap taken during the trip of a lifetime, an old photo dug up from the family album, or simply a picture of your backyard garden. Whatever it is, I'll work with it to create a piece of art that captures the essence of that special place.

Frequently Asked Questions

I don’t have a photo, but would like you to do a landscape painting for me. Can I still commission you?
Sure can! If you have a general idea of what you’re looking for, I’d be happy to help. If there’s something from my portfolio that’s caught your eye but you need in a different size or colour scheme, we can certainly discuss.

By submitting the commission request form, does that guarantee me a painting?
Submitting the form is just the first step in the process. To secure your commission, you must pay a non-refundable 50% deposit which I will request after we’ve decided on any remaining details.

What’s your cancellation policy?
You are free to back out of the process at any time. Just note that the 50% deposit you pay to secure the commission is not refundable.

How long does it take you to complete a commission?
On average, it takes two months. But an accurate estimate will depend on my workload as well as the size and complexity of the piece. I can give you a better idea once I receive your request form.

What makes a good reference photo?
The higher the resolution the better. But I can work with pretty much anything. If needed, I might ask for other photos of the area to help provide additional context to the landscape. Depending on the photo, I may suggest slight adjustments in order to improve the overall composition of the painting.

On the request form, you ask for confirmation that the photographer has given consent for the photo to be used. Why?
Great question! Simply put, it’s not legal for me to sell a painting based on someone else’s photograph unless I’ve been given permission by the photographer. For this reason, it’s important that you’ve been given consent to share and reproduce the photo you provide. Ideally, you will have taken the photo yourself.

I can’t decide on a photo - I have too many! - what should I do?
If you’re feeling a bit stuck, send me what you have. I can quickly assess which photos would lend themselves best to the canvas size you’ve chosen.

Can you include buildings or people in the painting?
For best results, I’d suggest the reference photo not contain people or buildings. That said, there are always exceptions to the rule. If in doubt, send the photo my way and I’ll let you know if I can work with it.

Will you make prints of the commission you paint for me?
Nope. The painting I create for you will be one of a kind, never to be reproduced. That said, I do use images of the paintings on my website and social media channels to help promote my service. If you’re uncomfortable with this, just let me know.

Do you paint anything else besides landscapes?
Most of my work is inspired landscape, but I do like to play around with different painting styles. If you're curious to check out my more experimental work, check out my current touring series.
